Drop forging was one of the more spectacular industrial activities in Birmingham and the Black Country throughout the region's unprecedented history.
While still active in some parts of the West Midlands, the industry used to form the backbone of a great deal of the heavy industry throughout the region and often defined the character of the areas in which it resided, due to the crashing, shaking ground and flying sparks!
The Last Drop can also refer to the last serving of beer at the end of a night in the pub, or, indeed, the end of the last batch of beer from a brewery!
