Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest in Munich is the world's largest Munich in Germany, combining a massive beer festival with a travelling carnival. Held annually from late September to the first weekend in October, it attracts millions of visitors from around the globe.

Only beer from Munich breweries may be served on the Oktoberfest, as custom dictates. The six breweries of the state capital allowed to fill the beer mugs of the Oktoberfest, they are; Augustiner, Hacker-Pschorr, Hofbräu, Löwenbräu, Paulaner und Spaten.

The festival is famous for its large beer tents run by Munich's traditional breweries, serving specially brewed Märzen beer. Besides the beer, Oktoberfest features traditional Bavarian music, hearty German cuisine like pretzels and sausages, and vibrant parades. Visitors often dress in traditional attire, such as lederhosen and dirndls, adding to the festive atmosphere. A celebration of Bavarian culture and a must-visit for beer enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike.
