Hogan's Breadboard #4 Vintage Perry 2022 750ml

This is a truly special and utterly delicious expression of the 2022 Perry pear crop, hand-harvested. They’ve been impatiently waiting for it to bottle condition over the last 18 months, but Sophie and Allen in particular have not been able to help themselves from routinely siphoning off a bottle or two to see how it’s evolving. All in the name of quality control...

The bottle fermentation results in a natural carbonation that delivers a Champagne-like effervescence, and there is a refreshing acidity from the Thorn pears that make up the majority of this blend. A small amount of natural sweetness remains due to the presence of unfermentable sugars in Perry pears, but be under no illusions - this is a wonderfully dry and more-ish Perry.

Tasting Notes: Champagne like, effervescent with natural carbonation, fermented from predominantly Thorn perry pears, with refreshing acidity and a little residual sugar.

Food Pairing: The natural flavour of the Perry pears makes for a wonderful partner to a good charcuterie board, and goes particularly well with soft goat’s cheese and some prosciutto.
