We are proud to announce our Foreign Beer List for the Foreign Bottle Beer Bar at the CAMRA Birmingham Beer Festival 2011.  This is a taste of the many beers we have to offer in store at Stirchley Wines & Spirits, we hope you find something of interest on the list.

Flying Dog's 20th Anniversary beer, an American IPA augmented with Belgian yeast, Raging Bitch is dangerously drinkable and has a delicate hop bitterness.

Brooklyn EIPA

6.8% ABV

India Pale Ale

Inspired by the original East Indian Pale Ales brewed in England in the early 1800s, Brooklyn EIPA is deep golden beer brewed from British malt and a blend of hops. It is traditionally dry-hopped for a bright aroma of hops, lemongrass, pine and citrus fruit, and has a robust bitterness, a warming malt palate and a clean hoppy finish.

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout

10.0% ABV

Imperial Stout

The brewers use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavour through a blend of specially roasted malts. Brewed every year for the winter season, it is delicious when newly bottled but also ages beautifully for years.

Left Hand Milk Stout

5.3% ABV

Milk Stout

Pours a clear, reddish brown with a creamy, off-white head. Lightly sweetish aroma of chocolate and hard roasted malts. Medium body, lightly sweet roasted malt and also both chocolate and coffee notes. The finish is short and dry.

Ommegang Abbey Ale

Belgian Style Abbey Dubbel

Beautiful mahogany with a tint of red. Creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. Sophisticated, vinous aroma with distinct alcohol. The body is solid and full with plenty of roasted malt. Sweet, fruity notes - of dried fruit like raisins in particular.

Anchor Old Foghorn

8.8% ABV

Barley Wine

A strong barley wine, dry hopped throughout the maturation period of some 6 months. Although the yeast is unable to ferment all sugars out of any beer at this strength the hop flavours make a balanced brew ideal for sipping after dinner.

Humming is an ancient term used centuries ago to describe both ales and beers. Although its origins are shrouded in mystery, it suits this bold hoppy ale, created to celebrate the anniversary of Anchor's first brew in 1705.

American Strong Ale

A dark amber beer with a dark orange head. The aroma is extremely hoppy which gives it strong notes of grapefruit, but it also has strong notes of alcohol. The flavour is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and grapefruit, and only hints of vanilla, leading to a dry bitter end.
